ENERGY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATES (EPCS) FOR COMMERCIAL PROPERTY

It is now a mandatory requirement prior to the sale or letting of the vast majority of commercial property that an EPC is obtained.  Since April 2012 a copy of the first page of the EPC must appear on our marketing particulars.

Please note that as of 1 April 2018 commercial buildings requiring an EPC need to have a minimum EPC rating of an “E”.  Any qualifying properties with an “F” or “G” rating cannot be let/sold until such time as the energy performance of the property has been upgraded.  This may involve only minor works such as changing the light-bulbs for example.  However, this will need to be ascertained once the EPC has been undertaken and we can advise on this.
